39. Chandini is shocked to see Prutvi gone

CHAPTER 39
Chandini is shocked to see Prutvi gone

It was Valentine’s Day. Chandini was very excited. Today she will open her heart to her lover. She got up early in the morning and took bath. After wearing a new dress, she stood in front of Sai Baba photo.  She had a sweet box in her hand. She kept on piece of sweet in front of Baba’s photo.  “Baba, today is V-day. I want to open my heart in front of Prutvi. I want to tell him that I want to be with him all my life.”
She folded her hands.

Chandini’s mother Seeta was surprised to see her get dressed up so early. “Today is bandh. Where are you going?”

“There is no college today. So I am going with my friends to Sai Baba temple.”

Chandini wore her slippers and went straight to the compound. She was surprised to see everyone talking in a group. She approached Sridevi.

Sridevi said sadly, “Prutvi’s father has expired. He went home at midnight.”

Chandini was shocked. Words don’t come out of her mouth. Everybody was speaking about the same thing. Arvind came out of his room. She immediately approached him. He took her into his room.

Arvind said sadly, “Prutvi has gone home. His father has expired. What a great man he was. Today that Nityananda Ashram has become so big and is giving food, shelter and education to thousands of children. It is possible all because of him.”

Chandini was shocked. “How did he die?”

“Accident.”

“Where? Prutvi told me that his father was in the foreign country.”

“Yes. Paris. Prutvi went there only.”

“You phone to him. I want to talk to him.” Said Chandini.

Prutvi said sadly. “He has left his cell here.”

Chandini put her hand on her head. She was so shocked. No words came out of her mouth.

Arvind said, “Chandini, he told me to tell you that he will return in 15 days. As soon as he reaches Paris, he will definitely phone.”

Tears rolled down her cheek. She kept the sweet box there only.

Arvind was sad. “Chandini take your sweet box.”

“When Prutvi is not here. What shall I do with that sweet box?”
